Technical Experience

September 2022 ~ present     Applied Science Research Intern, FGDC, U.S. Geological Survey

  • Team Lead – FLORA Classification Team
    • Leading a 11-member team of interns towards the implementation of AI/ML, Deep Learning, drone technology, other emerging technologies to support applied science in the identification of flora species. This led to developing an application that provides to citizen scientists an understanding of how susceptible their environment is to a wildfire.
    • Investigated the use of open-source applications for the design of application. This led to an opportunity, where I am spearheading a collaboration between an emerging technology and a well-established company.
    • Identified problems like limited open access algorithms and created solutions by utilizing pre-existing apps for classification
    • Developing, testing the application with an estimated 2 thousand beta testers in August 2023 for the final launch of the application. Project is planned to be extended to be used by prototypical immersive visualization.
    • This is a working module in the expansion of the Actionable Fire Science Information Hub (AFSI Hub), a joint project spearheaded by NASA and the USGS.
  • Proposal Strategist
    • Collaborated with my team to develop a compelling presentation using StoryMaps and PowerPoint for a proposal submitted to and accepted by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), effectively conveying our project ideas in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Geospatial Data Analyst
    • Developed education and outreach materials to advance the use of Geospatial data for decision-making using Moodle, Github, TerriaJS analytics platform, and ArcGIS among other resources to research, analyze, synthesize, report, and communicate key information requested by stakeholders

    • Successfully managed a diverse ecosystem of 10+ complex communication and collaboration technologies, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, MoodleCloud, and ArcGIS Online, to effectively support partner requirements.
    • Executed user provisioning, role management, and access control tasks for a cohort of 65+ co-interns, demonstrating strong administrative skills and ensuring smooth system operations.
    • I provided provisioning, internal control, monthly reporting, auditing and billing management for 35 license types, 1810 asset types, and 250k processing and hosting credits valued at ~$400k per annum.
    • Developed impactful presentations to effectively communicate organizational information, goals, objectives, and activities to a diverse audience of internal and external constituents, practitioners, and colleagues.

June 2022 ~ August 2022     Deep Learning/Robotics Engineering Internship, University of Hyderabad

  • Developed a Robotic Arm for tomato plantation-based application under Dr Vineet C. P. Nair
  • Worked on integrating various IoT devices like servo motors, accelerometers, to microprocessors like Jetson, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino with Reinforcement learning modules to survey tomato plants’ growth.
  • Utilized a multitude of data communication modes to ensure optimum intra-device communication
  • Built a camera-aided robotic arm that moves in 3 axels to fully survey the tomato plants

March 2022 ~ Present     Student Placement Coordinator, University of Hyderabad

  • Coordinated and facilitated student placements by liaising with academic departments, and students to ensure successful placement experiences.
  • Provide guidance and support to students throughout the placement process, monitoring progress, and addressing any issues that may arise
  • Collaborated with faculty and staff to design and implement placement policies, guidelines, and evaluation criteria to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the placement program.

June 2023     Detection of Cancer through image data using PyTorch

  • Used the ResNet34 model for classification
  • The data used was a slightly modified version of the PatchCamelyon (PCam) benchmark dataset

May 2023     ML Classification of Voice Data

  • Used various Machine Learning techniques to analyse voice disorders for Parkinson's disease detection
  • Techniques used included: KNN classification, Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines (SVM), Random Forest Model
  • Pre-processed the data using t-SNE analysis rather than PCA

March 2023     Imaging and Analysis of Hard Disk with DD, TSK, OSForensics

  • Created in-detailed procedural steps to create a disk image for a device’s non-volatile memory and perform analysis on that image system using TSK and OSF frameworks.

March 2023     Comparing Hypervisor Performance

  • Compared the performance of various Hypervisors (VMware Workstation Pro, Oracle VM VirtualBox, KVM, Citrix XenServer, Docker) with respect to power usage, processor usage and much more.

November 2022     Lottery System Smart Contract

  • Developed and deployed a Solidity smart contract for a lottery system in Ethereum blockchain

October 2022     Time Series Analysis of Data in R

  • Conducted data pre-processing and cleaning
  • Applied PCA to the data
